EMF and your devices

What is EMF and how does it effect you?

EMF or an Electromagnetic field is created by each and every electronic device around you. This is because these devices have an electric current that passes through a circuit and then allows the device to be used.

While each and every electronic device creates and EMF field, the Electromagnetic Radiation created through this field has the potential to be harmful to your body. There are different types of these fields, Extremely Low Frequency and Radio Frequency EMF's, that have varying degrees of radiation.

Extremely Low Frequency fields are created as the electronic devices function. However, Radio Frequency fields or Microwave signals have varying degrees of strength. This is because the power behind them is directly related to say the phone call your making to someone on the other side of the country, or the more local connection to your WiFi. With the multiple differences, there are varying degrees of EMF being created by your electronics.

There are ways to limit the EMF exposure of your devices:

With your smartphone or tablet, turn your WiFi down when not using it. Therefore the device will not be actively looking for it and emitting a signal.

Use speakerphone as opposed to having your phone next to your ear.

Keep your phone on airplane more or in a Faraday Bag when not in use. This will stop the signals going to and from the device and drop the radiation around it.
