SLNT, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively referred to as “SLNT”) are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe online experience for all of our users and subscribers while offering the highest quality user experience to them. Because we gather certain types of information about and from you, our users and subscribers, in order to fulfil your requests and better serve your needs, we feel you should fully understand the terms and conditions surrounding the collection and use of this information. Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to purchase through the Site or SMS Messages, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number, and ordering preferences. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

We also utilize third-party data providers to provide known marketing and social information using your email and/or phone number. This information helps us improve our products and customer experiences.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

 

What Information Do We Collect?

In order to provide users and subscribers with the most efficient and enhanced personalized service and attention, we may request information about you in certain circumstances and collect certain information automatically. We may also use contact lists and other information which are obtained from third parties. For the convenience of all of our customers, we create and maintain a customer account that includes all the collected personal information we may have with respect to an individual. We collect personally identifiable information that you volunteer to us (such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, phone number, age, gender), when you subscribe to, or create an account with, the Website, join our loyalty program (if applicable), enter a competition through the Website, request a catalogue, place an order (if applicable), apply for a job or voluntarily register on the Website. Often this additional information is optional or requested anonymously in connection with a survey or a job application. Website visitors may register to receive our e-mail updates, or enter online competitions. Registration may also be required to participate in certain message boards, podcasts, bulletin boards, chat rooms or surveys if available on the Website. Information Collected Automatically

We may also automatically collect your IP and referring Website addresses, browser type, domain name and Website access times. This information helps facilitate your online experience on the Website. In addition, we use cookies to track usage patterns on the Website and to control the display of ads, as well as to offer other functionalities (such as screening for age, helping to track items in your shopping basket if the Website offers online shopping opportunities, and "recognizing" you to speed up your log-in when you visit the Website). Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, primarily to the United States.

 

Date Retention

When you place an order through the Site or SMS Messages, we will maintain your Order Information and communication history for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Additional Information

Sometimes SLNT may conduct market research so that we can continually improve our brands and Website and may purchase or rent lists of potential subscribers or customers from third parties. Those lists may include information on current subscribers or customers. This information may be included in our database in order to help us serve you better by, for example, minimizing multiple mailings and e-mailings and providing information tailored to your interests.

 
We use RECAPTCHA, on our websites.  RECAPTCHA is an advanced risk analysis service from Google that makes it possible to differentiate between a human user and a robot in order to prevent malicious software from engaging in abusive activities on our websites. RECAPTCHA operates by collecting data on your hardware and software. This data is shared with Google for analysis. The data used by RECAPTCHA is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy and to the Terms of Use. We also use Judge.me for reviews and Route for package insurance and tracking.

 

What Do We Do With Collected Information?

Your personal information may be used by us in a number of ways, including (without limitation):

  • to give you access to, and improve, the Website, products and services;
  • to allow you to subscribe to the Website;
  • to assess and process your job application;
  • to allow you to purchase products from the Website, including processing payments and providing refunds and discounts. Note, we may, from time to time, produce reports for advertisers, sponsors and vendors containing anonymous, aggregate information about our users and subscribers, such as demographic, age and online usage information. This information allows us to provide content and offers that are most relevant to our subscribers and users and to work more closely with advertisers and other partners. We do not include any personally identifiable information of our users in these reports.

 

How Do We Share Personal Information?

Personal information is available to SLNT and the technical and fulfilment agents, partners and consultants who make the Website, products and services available to you. Anonymous information is available to our advertisers, sponsors and promotional and business partners. We share your personal information with third parties only as described below. From time to time, we may also establish business relationships with other persons or entities that we believe to be trustworthy and whose privacy policies are generally consistent with our privacy policy (“Choice Partners”). In such cases we might share and cross-reference information, including personal information about you that will enable our Choice Partners to contact you regarding products and services that you might find of interest.

 

SLNT and Its Agents

SLNT may access anonymous, aggregate demographic data and any personal information you provide for internal marketing purposes, including sending you notices of competition winners, new websites, services or products we offer and any other orders. To facilitate product orders (if they are available on the Website), SLNT will cache your order information, and create an authorization with a merchant account (e.g., your credit card company). Website hosting firms, technical and database consultants, advertising agencies, order processing partners, customer service partners and fulfilment firms, including firms assisting us in offering competitions and promotions, may have access to personally identifiable information in the course of making our products and services available. All companies working for and with SLNT to whom we provide such data must comply with our privacy policy, and are not permitted to sell your information to third parties or to use it except as authorized by us and you, or as permitted or required by law.

 

Participating Vendors

The Website may offer opportunities to make purchases online from special participating vendors. On Websites with these online purchase opportunities, we will also give participating manufacturers, retailers, wholesalers or distributors the order information and authorization for the merchant bank. Any time you order from a participating vendor, that vendor will automatically have all the information related to the order. Participating vendors have their own privacy policies, and they may use that information to advise you directly of other products and offerings that they provide. SLNT is not responsible for these third parties' respective privacy policies, and we urge you to inquire about their information collection and use practices. In addition, all vendors will receive the same anonymous, aggregate data that our advertisers receive.

  • as needed to satisfy any law, regulation or legal request;

Credit Card Companies

As in any transaction, your credit card company will have all relevant information about the name of the vendor, item(s) purchased, date, total cost and other information necessary to process the transaction. SLNT will not otherwise provide any personal data to your credit card company without your permission.

 

Advertisers, Sponsors and Promotional and Business Partners

We share anonymous, aggregate demographic information and anonymous information obtained from cookies and similar technologies, with our advertisers, sponsors, promotional and business partners, and participating vendors. No personally identifiable information is disclosed to any of these third parties in providing these reports. Credit card numbers, bank account numbers and passwords are not shared with advertisers, sponsors or promotional partners, and are only shared with the specific vendors with whom you place an online order (if product orders are available on the Website). Information which we obtain in non-Internet transactions, promotion or competitions is handled differently. Depending on the nature of the transaction we may share offline contact information with third parties, who may send you offers or information about their products or services. We may also provide Website visitors with opportunities to sign up directly with certain advertisers and sponsors to enter competitions or to receive e-mail updates and other information directly from them. If you submit Personal Information to or via any linked third-party website, the privacy principles or standards applying to the collection, use and disclosure of that information will be outside our control. Once you have left our Website via such a link, we advise you to examine the applicable terms and conditions or privacy policy of the third-party website before disclosing any information to them. How Do We Use Cookies?

Security Of Your Personal Information

We will take reasonable steps to maintain the security of and to prevent unauthorized access to or disclosure of your Personal Information. Your personal information may also be protected by the password you created when you registered on the Website where this feature is offered. The confidentiality of any password is yours to protect. We store data on multiple service systems, in controlled environments. To maintain security, we conduct internal reviews of our security measures on a regular basis. When we no longer require your Personal Information for a specific purpose and we are not required to keep it to comply with any laws, we will take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to destroy your Personal Information or to ensure that the information is de-identified.

 

Children’s Privacy

Some Websites may include features or material that may be appealing to children under the age of 15. SLNT is strongly committed to protecting the safety and privacy of children who visit the Website. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 15. The Website may include features that are unsuitable for children under 15 and which are not necessarily monitored. If you are a California resident under the age of 18, and a registered user of any website where this Policy is posted, California Business and Professions Code Section 22581 permits you to request and obtain removal of content or information you have publicly posted. SLNT Privacy Notice – Employees/ Contractors

SLNT hereby referred to as ("Company," "We," "Our," "Us") collects personal information from employees, officers, contractors, and former employees, officers, and contractors (collectively, "members") during our hiring, employment, and termination process, and in accordance with federal and state laws.

In this notice, "SLNT" refers to SLNT, Inc. and any affiliate entities.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Identifiers, such as name, alias, telephone number, personal and work email address, postal address, screennames, usernames, date of birth, signature, social security number, driver’s license or state identification card number.
  • Personal information under California Civil Code section 1798.80, such as bank account number, routing number, tax information, or other payroll information.
  • Professional or employment related information, such as Curriculum Vitae/resumé, current and previous employment details, immigration status, or work authorizations.

  • We also collect the following categories of sensitive personal information:

  • Account log-in data, such as usernames and passwords for Company systems.

We may also collect additional information that you choose to provide to us during the interview process or while you work for us.

Data will be stored in a range of different places, including your application record, HR management systems, and other IT systems (including email).

In addition, where relevant to the recruitment process, including where necessary to accommodate any disability needs or to comply with some regulatory requirements, we may also have the need to process sensitive information such as characteristics of protected classifications. This may include:

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We will use your personal information for the following purposes:

If you are offered a position with us, to verify the Personal Information provided including your identity, address, right to work, employment history and academic background and other background screening purposes including, where allowed by law, criminal record checks, searches with a credit reference agency and sanctions screening checks.
  5. To provide you with information about future job vacancies, if you would like us to send you such notifications, which may include using data analytics to match your profile against vacant positions.

Who Has Access to Your Personal Information?

Your information may be shared internally for the purposes of the recruitment process and for the other purposes described in this privacy notice. This includes members of SLNT, interviewers involved in the recruitment process, managers in the business area with a vacancy, and IT staff if access to the data is necessary for the performance of their roles.

We will not share your data with third parties unless your application for employment is successful and we make you an offer of employment. We will then share your data with former employers to obtain references for you, and employment background check providers to obtain necessary background checks.

During and after your term of employment, SLNT shares your data with the following categories of parties, as necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice:

  • SLNT and affiliate companies for reporting (to the HR and Finance departments) and hosting purposes;
  • Persons in charge of employee management and authorized personnel of SLNT with a business need (e.g., HR department, Legal, Finance department, Operations);
  • Hierarchical supervisors of the concerned employees, but excluding data related to social action directly implemented by the employer;
  • Other personnel of SLNT, but only limited to basic professional information to allow the day-to-day business and which is usually available in SLNT and/or Company corporate directory;
  • Third party service providers and vendors for the abovementioned purposes (e.g., payroll, benefits, travel agencies, conference vendors, internet service provider, IT maintenance, service providers used for the implementation of SLNT Apps, IT solutions and tools, hosting service providers);
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and auditors;
  • Government or regulatory authorities; and,
  • Banks and insurers.

In the event of a change of control or ownership of the Company or in the event all or part of the Company's business is otherwise transferred to a third party, you are informed that your personal information as collected and maintained by the Company may be transferred to that third party, subject to applicable law.

 

Security of Your Personal Data

We employ security measures and technologies, such as password protection, encryption, and physical locks, etc., to prevent the unauthorized access and disclosure of your personal information. If you are authorized to have access to the personal data of others, it is important that you take appropriate safeguards to protect this personal data, in accordance with our written security policies and procedures.

  • Paper and other hard copies containing personal data should be secured in a locked location when not in use.
  • Computers and other access points should be secured when not in use by logging out or locking.
  • Passwords and user IDs should be guarded and NOT shared.
  • Employee personal information will be protected and used in accordance with the applicable federal, state and local laws.

 

Retention of Your Personal Data

Upon your separation of employment with the organization, your personal information shall be retained and destroyed according to our document retention policy and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Privacy Rights & Additional Disclosures for Californians

Californians have privacy rights for their personal information. As we have provided above, businesses are required to inform members of the categories of personal information they collect and the purposes for which the categories will be used, at or before the point of collection.

As of January 1, 2023, Californians also have the following rights:

Request for Information or Deletion. Californians have the right to know whether we are processing your personal information, and in some instances, you have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories listed below for the preceding 12 months. We have the right to request verification of your identity for all requests for information. In responding to this right, we shall provide to you:

  • The categories of personal information we collect about you.
  • The categories of sources from which your personal information is collected.
  • The business or commercial purpose(s) for collecting, selling, sharing, or disclosing your personal information, and the categories of personal information disclosed for such purpose(s).
  • The categories of third parties with whom we share your personal information.
  • The categories of personal information we have sold, if any, about you and the categories of third parties to whom your personal information was sold, by category or categories of personal information for each third party to whom the personal information was sold. SLNT has not sold personal information in the past nor does it intend to sell your personal information in the future. 
  • The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.

In addition, you may have the right, in certain circumstances, to request we delete your personal information.

Request for Correction. Californians have the right to request the correction or rectification of inaccurate information in their personal information.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Californians have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information. However, we do not sell your personal information, nor do we share your personal information to provide personalized or targeted advertising. Limiting the Use of Sensitive Personal Information. Californians have the right to direct us to use or disclose sensitive personal information only for providing goods or services, or as otherwise minimally permitted under applicable law. However, we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose other than fulfilling your employment expectations, or as otherwise minimally permitted under applicable law.

Right of Non-Retaliation. Employees and independent contractors who are residents of California have the right not to be retaliated against by an employer for actualizing any of these rights.

Verification Process for Exercising Rights. To protect your privacy, we verify privacy rights requests to ensure that only you (or your authorized agent) can exercise rights pertaining to your personal information. As part of our verification process, we may request you to submit additional information.

If you are an authorized agent wishing to exercise rights on behalf of a state resident, please contact us using the information at the bottom of this Notice and provide us with a copy of the resident’s written authorization designating you as their agent. We may need to verify your identity and place of residence before completing your rights request.

 

Changes to the Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice is effective as of the date noted above. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Notice on this page and change the date at the top. The Privacy Notice is also contained in our Employee Handbook. We encourage you to review updates by checking the date referenced above.
